Tip To Missouri DEA Results In ArrestA tip to the Drug Enforcement Agency in St. Louis, Missouri has resulted in the arrest of three Scotland County, Missouri residents on a number of drug-related charges after a more than month-long investigation.
Missouri officers from the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jerry W. Cochenour, 48, and Brenda D. Cochenour, 45, both of Arbela along with Gary L. Holt, 51, of Granger on October 10.
Jerry Cochenour is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance (meth-amphetamine), and felony resisting arrest. His wife, Brenda, is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Holt was arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and felony possession of anhydrous ammonia in a non-approved container.
All three individuals are being held on $200,000 cash only bonds and were scheduled to appear in the Scotland County, Missouri Court on Monday, October 13.
A tip to the St. Louis DEA office started a month-long investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B Marijuana Eradication Team in conjunction with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.
The cooperative effort discovered numerous cultivated marijuana plants growing in the Granger area. The execution of a pair of search warrants also netted more illegal contraband as well as a large sum of cash. Officers indicated the investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.
“The charges for which the individuals were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt,” stated Sergeant Brent Bernhardt, Troop B Public Relations Officer. “Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.”
